Yesterday, was my day to do laundry and seriously clean my house. (All while doing about 7283 other projects, but isn’t that the way we all are??) So, I told myself that I wouldn’t allow myself to do anything “fun” until I’d cleaned my living room, dining room, and kitchen and put away a few loads of laundry…sometimes I have to treat myself like a child in order to focus on what needs to be done.
Fast forward to 5 minutes later, and I was downstairs in my sewing room working on a table runner for a table in my living room.
Staying on task has never been a strong point of mine.
20 minutes later, I was placing this beauty on the table in my living room…and still not cleaning.

Isn’t it lovely? Anyone with a sewing machine who’s capable of sewing a straight line can do this in just a few minutes! It’s just a hem around the edges and sewing on some lace to the ends and you’re done! I chose to add the lace at the ends because it gives the rustic burlap a feminine touch AND it hides any imperfections that may occur when sewing burlap…and believe me, I have more than one! Staying straight isn’t one of burlap’s best qualities…things tend to get a little wibbly wobbly when working with it.

I chose to just add two rows of lace, but it looked fine with one, and would probably look even better with more! It’s completely up to you…no need to follow a specific plan here! It’s your house, your rules!

My runner during its first close-up yesterday…being photographed for my One Bowl Banana Bread recipe! I’d say it looks pretty good, wouldn’t you?
Have a great Wednesday!
