I read lots of websites and blogs everyday…lots and LOTS of them. I see recipes for Chocolate Chip Caramel Brownie Peanut Butter Cookies and Strawberry Raspberry Chocolate Pecan Cheesecake Cookies (okay, so I exaggerate a bit…) on a daily basis. I love reading about people getting creative in the kitchen and trying new things, but I also really love a good, basic “go-to” recipe.
So, I searched online for websites claiming to have the “best chocolate chip cookie recipe”. I came across this recipe and decided to give it a try.

I was drawn to this particular recipe because there was lots of brown sugar, vanilla, and salt…and I was hoping the salty/sweet would come through a bit more than the usual cookie recipe.
And the verdict??

It’s definitely a tasty cookie! Is it the absolute best chocolate chip cookie recipe out there? I suppose only time, and an extensive amount of research will tell! I did find it unusual that these cookies baked at 360 degrees…I don’t think I’ve ever baked anything at that temperature before. The salty/sweet didn’t come through as much as I’d hoped it would, despite using a fairly coarse kosher salt. I also found that I baked the cookies for a couple minutes less than the directions called for, since I prefer my cookies a bit on the softer side.
Do you have a chocolate chip cookie recipe that you think is the best? Leave me a comment and let me know, I’d LOVE to try it out!
