What I’ve Been Up To…and Our Giveaway Winner!

Do you know that saying, “the cobbler’s children have no shoes”?? Well, meet the cobbler! I’ve been super busy over the past couple of weeks, but my little site may not have shown it.  Just to bring you up to speed on what I’ve been up to……

This is a post I just did for Truly Chic Inspirations about my hometown of St. Louis and a St. Louis original dessert, Gooey Butter Cake! If you’re a fan of this tasty treat, I have four words that should be enough to get you to click here and check out the story…TWIX. Gooey. Butter. Cake!!!!

I’ve also been hard at work baking treats for Mixing Mavens.  I love seeing this site continue to grow and I love the recipes that my friends and fellow Mavens share.  My virtual recipe box grows each and every day! Click here to see the post I did for the Super Simple Strawberry Brownies!

See those smiling faces? That’s the “About Us” page on The Bakery Spot, where I’m the new Social Media Manager! I’ve had such fun talking sweets with fellow baking lovers, and I’ve learned a lot in a short time.  If you don’t already follow The Bakery Spot, click here to follow on Facebook, and here to follow on Twitter!

So, in addition to my social media responsibilities, I’m also guest posting from time to time on The Bakery Spot, and this is my most recent guest post.  These Peanut Butter Pretzel Brownie Cups are such a treat.  A brownie with a pretzel crust and a Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup baked inside…believe me, it’s a real treat! Click here to get the recipe so you can try it yourself at home!

And finally, I’ve been working on this Mommy & Me apron set giveaway  from Aimee Broussard Events to celebrate 500 Facebook friends! This has been such fun, I can’t wait to do another one! {I’m planning on doing another one when I hit 1000 fans…so if you want to give me a hand getting there, please be sure to “like” my Facebook page here!}

And now to announce the winner of our giveaway!!

LaVonne, please contact me and I’ll pass along the info you’ll need to get your apron! Congratulations to you and a huge THANK YOU to all who entered!

Soooo, now you can see that I’ve actually been quite a busy girl lately, even though my website may not have been the most hopping place! That’s all about to change, though…I’ve got some BIG projects up my sleeve, and I’ll definitely be sharing it all with you as I go along!

Giveaway to Celebrate 500 Facebook Friends!

When I was approaching 500 friends on Facebook, I mentioned that once I reached that number, I’d host my first ever (non-sponsor) giveaway.  Thanks to my lovely readers and my wonderful friends, we were able to surpass that number.  So, as promised, it’s giveaway time!

My friend, (and fellow Mixing Maven!) Aimee has recently started an Etsy shop making the most adorable Mommy and Me aprons.  As you can tell from the picture, they are absolutely darling, but even better…they are REVERSIBLE and CUSTOMIZABLE! Baking with our little ones is a special time, but it automatically becomes even more special when we are looking fabulous in adorable aprons!

Soooo, the winner of my giveaway will receive:

*one adult sized HALF apron (because I think the half aprons are so sassy looking!) in the green/black/white fabrics.
*one matching child sized FULL apron in the green/black/white fabrics.

The winner will also have the option of having their aprons customized!

Are you interested in winning?? Since I dislike complicated entry processes, I’m keeping mine simple…here’s how you’ll enter!

1. Like A Sweet Spot: Home on Facebook, and let me know you did in a comment.

2.  Share my giveaway with your friends on Facebook and let me know you did in a comment.

Each comment and each share will count as an entry, so you’ll have two chances to win.

I’ll choose the winner on Monday, February 27th! Good luck to you all!!

Looking Cute in the Kitchen!

Ladies, just because we’re slaving away baking delicious goodness in the kitchen doesn’t mean we can’t still be cute, does it?? I certainly hope not, because anyone would look adorable sporting these adorable (and reversible!) Mommy and Me aprons, made by my friend, and fellow Mixing Maven, Aimee Broussard! I think these darling aprons would even make my standard baking uniform of a hoodie and yoga pants look stylish, don’t you???

These aprons were created for Valentine’s Day, but I know that my friend is hard at work creating new versions for Easter! If you’d like to get your own apron, click here to place your order!
