My Collection: Cookbooks!

Happy weekend, everyone! Today I’m talking about collections…and my collection should come as no surprise to you at all!

Yep, I collect cookbooks.  I buy them in bookshops, order them online, pick one up every time we go on vacation…I love them! I especially like to get cookbooks that are representative of the area I’m visiting. Sometimes I buy them because I love the recipes, sometimes I buy them because I love the pictures, either way I’m always happy to spend lots of time going through my treasured books!

What are your collections???

Project Simplify Challenge #2: Paring Down Our “Collections”

If you think about it, we all have “collections” that we’ve begun building without even realizing we’ve done it.  One of my many unofficial collections has got to be books.  As an avid reader, I have many, many books in my home.  I have very few books that I am willing to re-read after I’ve finished them, so my precious books are placed on a shelf, never to be read again.  Until now…..

After only about 10 minutes, I was able to go through one of my bookshelves and remove 30…yes, 30 books that I know I’ll never read again.  They’re packed up in a box, and ready to go to our local library, for many people to enjoy for years to come!

What unofficial collection do you keep, and do you think it could be pared down a bit? Leave me a comment and let me know, and after you’ve done it, snap a pic and leave it on my Facebook wall! It takes a village to simplify our lives!
